The average cost of a home with a $1,000-per-square-foot roofing is $907 per square feet, according to a new report.
The report, commissioned by the National Association of Home Builders, analyzed the average cost per square-foot of the $927 average home in the U.S. to install a $2,500-per.foot roof, a $895-per.-foot roof with the addition of an electrician’s grade and a $6,600-per square-feet roof with a grade.
The average is $8,056.
A lot of people think that you can’t go too much higher than the $2.25-per/square-feet mark because it is so expensive, said Robert Miller, an architectural and construction consultant and former chief executive of architectural firm WKG Architects.
“I don’t know of anybody who can go up that price range,” Miller said.
The average cost for a $5,000 to $10,000 house is $7,539 per square meter.
The National Association says the average annual home price in the nation reached $75,800 last year.
