By AP StaffPublished June 02, 2018 06:12:33More than two dozen countries around the world have approved aluminum roofings to replace concrete or steel roofing.
The material is commonly used in cars, homes, and commercial buildings, but it is also used in many other industries and in buildings as well.
A new study published in the journal Environment International finds aluminum roof materials may be more cost-effective than concrete or stainless steel in some applications.
The study is the first of its kind to examine the use of aluminum roofs in Mexico.
The results were based on surveys conducted by the Mexican government and international consultants.
“In Mexico, the main use is to replace roofing,” said study author Juan Carlos Lopez, a professor of environmental engineering at the Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City.
“In fact, there are many cases where the use is a necessity.
The country has very high population density and high levels of deforestation, and in the past, people have used wood for roofs, which were highly susceptible to moisture.”
Researchers surveyed a sample of 1,000 people in seven communities in the Mexican state of Guerrero.
They found that of the respondents, 54 percent used aluminum roofs to replace existing roofs.
A third said they used it to replace a concrete roof.
The remaining 27 percent said they didn’t use aluminum roofs.
More than 60 percent of the residents surveyed said that aluminum roofs were a necessity, and nearly half said they would use aluminum in a new building or to replace old roofs.
The majority of respondents said they have used aluminum roofed buildings in the previous year.
The study found that the average annual use of the material was 2.6 cubic meters (3,600 gallons).
The survey found that in urban areas, the average cost of using aluminum roofs is $0.08 per square meter (4.6 gallons).
The study also found that about 1 in 6 people in Mexico did not use any form of roofing or concrete in the construction of new buildings.
It found that a large majority of the people surveyed did not install any concrete, and the remaining people used aluminum.
